Happy Birthday...

...to me!

Today is my birthday, I think I am getting old (33), but I don't really care, each year has brought such special blessings my way, so I would not give up any of those years!

I am very funny about my birthday. All I really want each year is to have a quiet day enjoying my family. If we go out for supper that is fun, if we eat at home and Mr. Pear BBQ's, that is fun too. But I just want to be together.

I will never forget the year we moved into our town home. Mr. Pear had to be out of the country for his visa, and I flew home from a business trip, on my birthday, arriving home after 11PM to a dark empty home. It really changed my perspective on birthdays. I no longer care about all the hoopla. All I care about is having the people I love near me. And that is exactly what I am getting today!

I woke up to birthday greetings and cuddles. I got all my cards in bed. I am drinking my favorite coffee (in moderation of course!), and am spending the day doing only things I enjoy with Miss Pear. When Mr. Pear comes home we will go out for supper, and then enjoy a quiet rest of the evening with my two favorite people. Although I guess now I can say my three favorite people as a little one is definitely making her presence felt! Throughout the day our family will call to wish me happy birthday, and I love that. And there will be emails and calls from friends too - I love that!

So I am having the exact birthday I love!

If you are stopping by on my birthday, please leave a comment! I would love to know you popped in on this fun day! (Yeah, I am definitely high maintenance!)

Happy Birthday, Mrs. Pear!

We are almost the same age. :) I will be 33 this fall, also expecting my 2nd baby. Neat!

I'm glad to hear your latest appointment went well; isn't that a relief? God is so good. :)

I totally agree with you on the birthday thing - I just want to be with those I love most (family). And I wouldn't mind a cake - DH isn't really into cake, so that's one thing I request. ;) My mom always made us whatever kind of cake we wanted for our birthday. MMmm-mmm! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I always enjoy your blog. Thirty-three is not so very old at all! With a young family and so much to look forward to, you are indeed much closer to the beginning of things than moving toward the middle.
