Multitude Monday 22

I lost my little list I keep during the week, something new I was doing, so this list is just off the top of my head!
237. Christmas shopping is done, we are just waiting for a couple orders to arrive
238. ...and the presents that need to be shipped are all gone except for 1 that is awaiting its second half, which is arriving on Wednesday.
239. ...and most of the presents are wrapped and under the tree, but that is mostly thanks to my favorite store that wraps everything for you but has excellent prices!
240. The Christmas tree has been up for almost 2 weeks and has not been completely redecorated by little people. Admired and touched, yes, but only 2 ornaments were removed.
241. The Christmas cards with pictures are ordered, the list of who will get them is prepared with addresses, so the hardest is done.
242. We did find a light up angel for our window. I am still on the look out for a nativity, but that can wait for next year.
243. Little girls who seem to grasp firmly that Christmas is about a lot more than gifts...
244. ...who are enjoying celebrating Advent and looking forward to Jesus' birthday.
245. A husband who likes to surprise me!
246. That we found rubber boots for all the girls in the house and new work shoes for my husband for Christmas, but he has them already because he could not wait.
247. A beautiful quilted Advent calendar where you add pieces to make a nativity that just arrived in the mail today - such a beautiful and special gift.
248. The indescribably Gift.

208. The joy of rain and cool weather where I can clearly justify...
209. ...wearing beautiful sweaters I have had in my closet for more years than I care to count because it was too warm in Southern CA for them.
210. ...a pot of delicious soup with homemade bread.
211. ...a cup of hot tea any time of day, even with a book sometimes!
212. The joy of most people knowing how to drive in the rain around here - in Southern CA we would often choose to stay home when it rained because other drivers often made it dangerous!
213. The joy of friends.
214. The joy of feeding people - love doing that!
215. The joy of praising God with His people.
216. The joy of hearing His Word faithfully preached.

Totally forgot to post this last week until Wednesday, so I just continued adding....

199. My husband's very successful business trip.
200. The very delicious coffee from "Eataly" he brought me after carefully reading all the offerings and choosing the one he thought I would like best - he was right!
201. That everyone is on the mend from the yuck.

205. That God will never leave or forsake us.
206. The hugs of daughters.
207. The understanding of my husband who took care of so much when I was sick last week and kept sending me to bed early as he did dishes and tidied up.

186. A large variety of coloring pages in the internet to help feed the fascination. (Although if anyone can find a picture of a cement pumper truck to color, please send me the link!)
187. The faithful preaching of God's word.
188. The words of faith put to music.
189. A sweet daughter who wanted to make us lunch today - pizza. I only helped a little.
190. Fall leaves - I have missed the fall color those 11 falls spent in southern CA.
191. My family's sense of adventure and fun. It makes me spontaneous and adventurous when I am not.
192. An all knowing and loving God who put my family together, truly a special gift! The God and the family.

Multitude Monday 17

I fell off the Multitude Monday bandwagon when Monday was also Bible in 90 Days check in day, and let's face it, on a Monday a gal can only do so much! But I have to confess, having a thankful heart is much easier when you are writing it down throughout the week to post on Monday morning. But this one is written all in one sitting before I hit publish, so it should be interesting., but more importantly, it is a return to purposefully giving thanks in the craziness of life, of Monday.
171. A husband who knows I cannot do it all and while I was cleaning the bathroom Saturday came in to chat with me and while doing so cleaned the entire shower.
172. A husband who saw the gorgeous Le Creuset pot at Costco and bought it for me because he knows I love to cook, especially for our family, and love Le Creuset. It's new home is sitting on the stove, it is beautiful.
173. A daughter who wanted to wear the split skirt in her closet simply because I made it for her. She then asked what we could make next. She was thinking of something for her little sister.
174. My littlest who is not so little any more who came running up to me, turned her little face up to me and said, "kiss!"
175. The crew of construction vehicles that pulled up Friday to start preparing the lots in our neighborhood for new homes. The girls are so happy to watch - there are nose and finger prints all over the windows and I am thrilled.
176. Little girls who think I am a genius and want to help me with everything.
177. A loving God who gave me this wonderful family!
178. ...and who meets me in my weakness...
179. ...and who gives me a desire to do better in the most important roles in my life and then helps me.
180. A church family who understands that teaching children to worship is an act of worship and encourages us in that.
181. Another day to love God, love my family, and grow in grace.

Multitude Monday 16

157. Ordinary Time. According to our pastor we are at the time in the church calendar called ordinary time. It is not Advent, Lent, we are not waiting for Pentecost. It is ordinary. And God is in it.
158. Miss Pear explaining scripture this morning. A little heart that gets it, it was sweet, it was funny, and I am pretty sure God was smiling...unless He was laughing really really hard!
159. The chance to talk to a couple at church whose unborn baby needs lots of prayer and offer some love and encouragement.
160. The chance to share my homemade bread with a family at church where the wife is having chemotherapy.
161. Being able to look out my windows and see the snowy mountains.
162. The little nose and finger prints of little people who were curious to look out too.
163. Celebrating Father's Day with my husband who really makes me want to celebrate.
164. Being encouraged to try new things by my husband who is my biggest cheerleader and when I ask if he is really sure about trying this he always says that he is because what is the worst that can happen? I always think that is a great point and go for it.
165. A bookshelf JUST FOR HOME SCHOOLING STUFF! Such a blessing.
166. A bigger shelving unit that is also stronger to hold my pantry items in the garage (we live in the Pacific Northwest where no one even has A/C, I don't anticipate it being a problem!)
167. New friends who are happy to see us and miss us if we are not there.
168. Old friends who miss us and call.
169. A God who is older than time, who is always there, and whose mercies are new every morning.
170. Being able to listen to my oldest sing Holy, Holy, Holy and my youngest do her best to sing the chorus of Jesus Loves Me...while she dances.

Multitide Monday 15

145. Yesterday was our 11th anniversary. On one hand so much has happened, and we dated for over 4 years before getting married that it seems like it should be longer somehow, but on the other hand it seems like it was yesterday. Regardless, ours is a happy marriage and I am grateful.
146. We were able to go out just the two of us for supper even though the girls both had colds because my MIL was here to stay with the girls.
147. We went to one of our all time favorite restaurants! This is a big deal because they did not have them in California, but I guess we are just close enough to Canada.
148. Even though both girls had terrible colds they are on the mend.
149. We had donut day on Friday and it was tons of fun!
150. Miss Pear had an appointment with the new pediatician for her 5 year check up. When we talked about referrals to cardiologists the doctors was thinking through names and said that Miss Pear is TOO HEALTHY to see her favorite one as he is an interventionists, taking just the hard cases....we cheered!
151. More boxes are emptied and we really are down to the nitty gritty.
152. This new home is really starting to feel like home.
153. We sold our old home a couple weeks ago, it closed a few days late due to the lenders being late on providing paperwork, but it closed, and we are incredibly grateful.
154. I ordered most of the homeschooling supplies we need for kindergarten. There may still be a few add ons, but the bulk will be here late this week and then we can sit down, spread it out, and make decisions on the last little things. The big job part is done!
155. We hear that the libraries here are great, and plan to check into that this week!
156. God is faithful.

Multitude Monday 14

This year I knew what I was getting for Mother's Day, in fact, I got it early!
131. We moved to our new home as a family, I did not stay behind to sell the house, my husband did not go ahead to start work. My husband did come up for 2 nights to find our new home, but that was all the separation. We moved as a family, we stayed together.
132. We stayed together - our family does much better when we are together. When Daddy returns home at the end of the day you would think he was gone for weeks the way he is greeted. We are funny that way. We love being together.
133. Plus my family made all the meals, and a cake for me.
134. They did not do the dishes at the end of the day, just like I asked. I asked for them to be left, dishes can be washed any time, but let's play now. So opposite of what I usually do, the usual let's get the work done so we can play. A special treat.
But there was one gift I did not expect or know about, one gift that not even my husband knew about:
135. While the details are just for us, our almost 5 year old made it clear that Jesus is her's, and she is His. No prompting, nothing fancy, just the innocent questions and words of a child with Love in her heart.
136. A small glimpse from the Father that the seeds we carefully and deliberately sow into our daughters are already yielding great fruit. Such encouragement. Such confirmation of the words that apply for parenting: Do not let your hands grow weary, do not tire of doing good.
137. I have a family who loves God and each other.
We moved, and
138. We love our new home.
139. We can see the snow covered mountains out the windows! Something I always wanted, but had only told God.
140. We live so close to my husband's work that he can come home for lunch any time he wants.
141. Miss Pear is delighted that she can see "Christmas Trees" growing outside her window. For a girl who has only lived in Southern CA, this is huge.
142. We have a lovely yard for the girls to play in. Yesterday I put bubbles in the water table while we were playing outside and they had great fun flinging them around the yard.
143. We may have found our new Church home already. We love it, and plan on continuing to attend. If the Lord confirms this is the one, we will take the membership class in October. (Yes, we will take that long, we will not rush.)
144. The Lord moved us to a new home, a new city, a new state, and is already helping us to love it.

Multitude Monday 13

It has been a while since I posted for Multitude Monday, and it most certainly is not for lack of material or an ungrateful heart, it has been for lack of time to be still and reflective as well as on the computer at the same time!
119. My girls are healthy, and each day they get stronger. A miracle! Every day a miracle.
120. We were able to help the Children's Hospital where our girls were treated by being interviewed for their donor letter. Each direct mail piece raises between $125,ooo and $250,ooo. We are able to help make a difference.
121. The Children's Hospital here is helping us find the specialists we need at the Children's Hospital we are moving near.
122. The Children's Hospital we are moving near is an excellent hospital. While I pray that our girls health problems are behind them, should they need care it will be excellent, and they will have great doctors for their continued follow up care.
123. We sold our home. The first day on the market we got an offer, the second day on the market we got a second offer late that night, and the third day on the market we signed the second offer. We opened escrow this past Friday.
124. We have had wonderful neighbors here who we love dearly.
125. The new people buying our home already love it and the fruit trees we so carefully planted and loved.
126. Our neighbors have all agreed to lie to us if the new owners of our home pull out the fruit trees! :-) Yes, it would make me very sad if they did, but it truly sounds like they love them.
127. My wonderful husband is looking for a home for us to rent for a year so we have time to learn the area before we buy a new home. He has spent hours and hours researching and making calls. Now he is up there looking for us while I have the luxury of staying home with the girls, confident that he will find a great home for us.
128. The Lord blessed me with a husband who loves his family and takes wonderful care of us.
129. The Lord has provided abundantly in ways I could not see at the time during our time in Southern California.
130. The Lord is good, always.
