It seems like some days it is hard to get everything done, but if I can start the day with an empty sink I feel much better.
To do that I let Miss Pear (27 months) help me. I pull up her stool to the rinse side of the sink and she "helps" me. She repeatedly rinses measuring cups, we count, we ask and answer questions, and we sing and learn together.
Sure, water ends up in more places, and things take longer, but we sure have fun!
Oh, and I tie a tea towel around her as her "apron" to help her get not quite so wet! (Think damp as opposed to soaked!)
It may not be the most creative kitchen tip, but it does help me get my dishes done!

Helping with dishes has always been a favorite of my boys!!! It seems like dishes is the easiest chore for me to get done with little ones in the house... because they help. :) Of course, now sometimes they try to BOTH help, and one chair doesn't hold them both too well ;) but Yehoshua plays by himself often while Eliyahu helps me. It's more work than doing dishes alone, but less work than having to stop to get him out of trouble!! :D
I love having my son at my elbow in the kitchen. Funny how once you have little ones, you can't remember your life any other way.
