I often hear it said that it just takes too long to clip coupons and study the flier and the return is so minuscule!
Hmm, let's see.
Tonight I went grocery shopping. Just to one store, mind you it is a store that is currently doubling coupons up to a dollar or the total value of the item (just the first coupon though), and is offering an additional 10% off your order because of the grand reopening.
Total before sales and coupons: $115.16
Admittedly, one of my store super coupons did not work so I had to get a cash refund to correct it, but:
Total after sales, coupons, and cash refund for error: $33.89
May I point out that my order, among many other things contained 2 x 24 packs of coke, 4 boxes of cereal, dishwasher detergent, milk, 2 bottles of fancy, refrigerated salad dressing and the fancy packed lunch meat?
If it is all the same I think I will continue clipping my coupons and studying my fliers....

What an awesome savings. Good for you. Im always cutting coupons, and looking through ads, but i never seem to have savings add up to what yours did. I must be doing something wrong.
We don't get a daily or weekly paper but my MIL and others give me their Sunday coupons - I've always found that the time spent on clipping the coupons was well worth it!
By the way, great savings!!
Please tell me it does take time to develop a method. I did pretty good last week and was so excited. This week... not so well!!
I'm not ready to give up yet though, especially if you tell me that it does take time!
Great job on your savings! I'm hoping to be there myself someday!!
I so so so wish we lived in a state that doubled coupons!
and uh...don't feel too bad about buying yourself some coke, we all need to have some sort of treat every now and then.
Wow, what a great amount of savings you got on that trip!
I certainly wouldn't worry about buying yourself cokes or your lunch meat. Didn't we grow up eating and drinking these things and didn't we turn out just fine! Your website is just wonderful! Kudos to you!
Youve been tagged. Stop by my blog and read all about it.
Wow, I'm impressed! Unfortunately, I shop at a grocery store that neither doubles coupons nor accepts Internet printed coupons. All that said, I did save $10 the other day at the store and that was HUGE to me. My biggest thing with coupons is to make sure I'm using them for things already ON my list. I make my list first and then clip coupons so I'm not clipping coupons for all the new fangled stuff I wouldn't spend money on without a coupon - otherwise I'll end up spending more than I intended even with the coupons. (Did that make any sense?) Oh, and this is totally my own opinion, but in my experience whenever someone starts a comment with "no offense intended" it's only a polite cover letter for exactly that. Again, my opinion, my experience and your mileage may vary.
Great job!! I wish I could master couponing that well :o)
