Rice Cooker: Black Beans and Rice

I made Black Beans and Rice in the Rice Cooker last night, and it was really good! Rather than putting the cheese in the whole thing I just sprinkled on top at the end and served with salsa.

Very quick, very easy, very delicious...and also inexpensive.

This was enough for all of us for supper and a lunch for Mr. Pear.

I should be a rice cooker! We do it on the stove, but I bet it's faster in the cooker.

Alexandra - a rice cooker is a wonderful treat, especially when it is very hot and you don't want turn the stove on! It also makes reliably good rice, which was not my forte on the stove! Using the quick method I can have plain white rice in about 20-25 minutes from hitting the button, but it also has a timer so I can set it in the morning when I have more time and forget it!

Most also steam veggies, so I steamed a huge batch today for Baby's food and they came out great!
