What do you think?

A couple I hardly know are getting married in our church, and the church women are having a shower for her. They are not done registering yet, and what they have registered for is either outside my budget ($25) or I just cannot bring myself to select as it is so boringly practical (not cute practical or fun practical, think wire shoe rack).

To say my shopping creativity is strained would be an understatement.

So do you have any ideas? What would you get? Should I just give up and find out who is doing the group gift and give them money?

How about a "date night" basket with a DVD or two, popcorn, snacks, cards or the like? Fun, not too personal, something they will enjoy. Or, Christmas decorations. I know it sounds weird, but most newly married couples don't have stuff for their first Christmas together and that is a big expense. I think you can do a lot for $25...espcially since you are so creative:)

Some of the best gifts I received were things to make meals. A friend gave me a muffin tin with two muffin mixes. Another friend gave us a big pot and supplies to make a pasta dinner.
