Happy New Year

Sometimes as moms we do the same thing each day only to do it all over again. We wonder if our children are listening as they do WHAT YOU JUST TOLD THEM NOT TO! (No, that never happens at our home, why do you ask?? LOL) Sometimes we wonder if the things we struggle to do with our children are having eternal impact, if they are really making a difference, and then you have a conversation like I had on Monday, and I am posting this to start the New Year in the hopes that it will offer you the encouragement it offered me.

Mommy: Before we leave the table we are going to read a chapter in our Bible.
Miss Pear: Can we read about Jesus?

Miss Pear often shows her agreement by asking to do what you just said you were going to do, usually when she REALLY agrees!

...happy mommy sigh...

And over a month after we read Jonah she informed her Daddy that she was going to Ninlavah. (Okay, so I have some work to do on pronunciation, but at least she did not say she was going to Tarshishkabobbers.....)

Isn't it amazing how simple conversations can give us mommies so much encouragement?

Is Miss Pear taking anyone with her to Ninlavah? :D

*sigh*... This was a good reminder that we as mothers are in a marathon of having eternal impact and not a sprint.

I was just reflecting on these same types of thoughts this morning in my quiet time. What a perfect affirmation of my own mother's heart prayers!

What a wonderful comment! I often wonder the same thing; I know that my son is ignoring me on purpose sometimes. But just the other day, he informed me that Jesus loves him. Progress!
